CANAL FULTON GYMNASTICS POLICIES
2450 Portage/Locust St. * Canal Fulton, OH 44614 * 330-854-4411

Mission Statement
We believe that the multitude of skills and athletic events found in gymnastics combined with its small group setting offers your child the very best beginning sports program available. Gymnastics training focuses on the development of strength, flexibility, and balance. It not only enriches your child's athletic abilities, but fosters an increased confidence in their physical capabilities.
At Canal Fulton Gymnastics, your child will learn gymnastic skills through a nationally tested program of progressions, where all major skills are reduced to smaller more manageable segments. For safety reasons and the development of proper technique, advanced skills will not be taught until basic ones are mastered. Mastering the more basic skills will safely lead to the achievement of advanced skills and leave the child with a sense of accomplishment throughout the process. Your child's progress is dependent upon her desire, athletic ability, and the motivation and guidance we can give them as coaches and parents.
We have a place for every child, whether she is the child with talent, the child with exceptional motivation, or the child with special needs. We feel all can benefit from the programs offered.
Since 1978 Canal Fulton Gymnastics has shown its support and dedication to the sport of gymnastics through our participation in being members of the L.E.A.A.U., A.G.O.L., & the U.S.A.G.F.

Fees
Class fees are listed in the class schedule. Families with two or more children enrolled will receive a 10% discount off the additional student. Fees are due prior to the start of the first class of the month. A late fee of $10 will be added after the 10th of each month. All members must pay a first time registration fee of $10 & a yearly insurance fee, which is discounted for multiple student families. There are absolutely no refunds of class or registration fees. There is a $40 charge each time your check is returned due to N.S.F. Also, please place your child’s name on the memo line of your check.

Make-Up Sessions
The purpose of the Make-up Policy is to allow students unable to attend their regularly scheduled class the opportunity to attend a similar class. If your child cannot attend her regularly scheduled class, please call us immediately. Only excused absences are allowed to be made up. Please do not bring you child if they are ill. All make-ups must be scheduled in advance with our office personnel. Since most of our classes are full we need to know in advance when and where we can allow people to make up the classes they have missed. There are no refunds for missed classes. Make-ups must be taken within one month of the missed class. There are no make-ups for classes missed during the holidays. During long breaks we offer open work outs.
The gym is closed for Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, and Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day.

Dress Code
Our Dress Code is in place to reduce the risk of injury due to loose clothing. All girls age three and up, must wear a leotard or body suit at all times. Tights are not acceptable. Long hair must be neatly tied up in a ponytail. Any child not properly dressed will not be allowed to participate in her class. These requirements are purely for the safety of your child. Please have your child ready to participate.
Arrival & Pick up Procedures
Please try to arrive only 5-10 minutes early to class. All shoes and clothing should be placed in the waiting area. As soon as the teacher is ready to begin the class, she will come to the door and escort the children into the gym. Children arriving late often react negatively and do not want to participate; they feel embarrassed and/or singled out and refuse to enter the gym. Please make sure the child goes to the bathroom prior to the start of class. This will prevent any interruptions or possible accidents. Also parents make sure you pick your child up on time. There is a charge of $2 for every 10 minutes you are late.

Bad Weather
Please call our office one hour prior to class, as we will leave a detailed message on our voice mail informing you of our plans. If in doubt, please call ahead. All canceled classes will be made up at later time.

Observation
There will be open observation the last class of the month for preschool, Level 1-3 & our tumble class. Team Levels 4 & up have meets that serve as their observation day. We do, however, ask that you keep from talking to your child since it could distract the class. All children in the waiting area must be properly supervised & sit quietly with their parents. Any child making excessive noise should be kept in the outer lobby. Only children registered and scheduled for class are permitted in the gymnastics area. We also have an exhibition every June, the Saturday after Father’s Day.

Communications
Please feel free to bring to our attention any questions, problems or concerns you might have. All we ask is that you allow us to answer the question the best we know how. We often look at what children are doing, process it with our adult mind and determine that the child must be bored or troubled, when nothing could be further from the truth. Please let the teachers teach the class. You have entrusted us with your most precious possession, now trust that we know what we are doing. On the other hand, we need to know that something is wrong in order to fix it. If you see something you do not like or disapprove of, please let us know and we will address it immediately. At the same time, if you see something you do like, please let us know as well. We like to hear that our customers are happy.
It is only through your feedback that we can continue to improve and meet your needs. Thank you.
